Moubine and Laura Mourad hail from Toledo, Ohio. Meeting in 2013, they fell quickly in love and tied the knot July, 2014. Soon they would add three kids to the family, Moubine (Bean), Musa, and Noelle.
One of the many family passions is reading, which sparked the inspiration for this book. This is a reflection of a series of conversations they have had with their children. At the onset, (Daddy) Moubine was reading the Bible to Bean. Bean had asked, “Who is I AM?” Bean, being the talkative clever type, was not sufficed with the answer of, “God.” He wanted to know more. “Why did he say, I AM!?” He questioned again.
Moubine responded with a question back to him. “Who is faster, me or you?”
Bean declared, “I AM!” Moubine asked why Bean had said it that way, and Bean said he was faster because Daddy is old. (How cute, right?)
That was a segue to explaining that God also knows how great he is! Over a series of trips to the city, lake, or just their backyard, Moubine and Laura have strived to highlight things that God has made and is still holding together. It is fulfilling for them to see Bean marvel in the differences between ants and whales, and to know who made them.
“Who is I AM?” This is a deep question. God says, “I AM THAT I AM.” Moubine and Laura have written this book and now read it to their kids to reinforce the concept of who God is. Other parents could also use it as a springboard for discussion with their kids in a tangible, visible, experiential way. Please help the Mourads share this tool which could help others with this in-depth concept: God, the creator and sustainer of all, is the Great I AM!
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
